The Accounting Team Leader is a vital member of The Ladders' finance department. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this individual will manage a dedicated team. The ideal candidate should have a strategic outlook and act as a guardian of the organization's financial integrity. Essential attributes for this role include comprehensive knowledge of accounting standards, strong communication skills, teamwork, confidentiality, meticulous attention to detail, and unwavering ethical standards.
About You
Key Requirements
- Proven expertise in accounting principles and practices
- A minimum of five years of experience in financial reporting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Familiarity with relevant accounting standards
- Experience in managing financial close processes and liaising with stakeholders
- Ability to prepare financial analyses and statements
- Knowledge of audit procedures
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Experience with accounting software is a plus
- Understanding of tax reporting is advantageous
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
- Ability to exercise professional judgment and work autonomously
- Excellent follow-through and adherence to deadlines
- Collaborative team player with adaptable leadership qualities
- Experience in drafting technical accounting reports
- Background in industries related to technology or services
- Prior experience in public accounting
- CPA certification is preferred
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities and reconciliations
- Develop accounting procedures and improve closing processes
- Monitor daily financial operations
- Analyze financial statements and prepare reports
- Communicate financial results to the leadership team
- Assist with compliance and reporting requirements
- Manage the financial close process
- Guide and develop team members
- Support various teams with financial insights
- Lead financial statement preparation and audit processes
