Environmental Attorney Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Attorney to join our team at GPAC. As a leading search firm specializing in placing quality professionals, we are dedicated to environmental law and sustainability.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental law, regulatory compliance, and litigation. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to advocating for environmental protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on environmental regulations, compliance issues, and risk management strategies.
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings, negotiations, and litigation related to environmental matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on environmental laws and policies.
  • Draft and review contracts, permits, and legal documents related to environmental issues.
  • Collaborate with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to develop strategies for compliance and sustainability.
  • Stay current on industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes affecting environmental law.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in West Virginia.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in environmental law or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations, including NEPA, CERCLA, and RCRA.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
