Key Responsibilities:- Assist dental staff with patient care, including preparation of treatment areas, instrumentation, and medication management.
- Coordinate care with other departments and teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain a clean and safe dental clinic environment.
- Prepare and assemble instruments and materials for dental procedures.
- Assist with patient positioning, instrumentation, and management during treatment.
- Perform tasks such as placing or removing temporary plastic strips, crowns, bands, and retaining devices, as well as taking and posting digital x-rays.
- Instruct patients, staff, or guardians on patient treatment, postoperative care, oral hygiene, or medication, as appropriate.
- Knowledge of Blood Borne Pathogen Precautions and regulations related to body fluids and Biomedical Waste handling.
- Ability to apply restraints as outlined in the individual's served Annual Rights Assessment, completed by the Interdisciplinary Team, and/or signed consents to prevent unintentional injury to the individual or staff during dental procedures.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of available adaptive aides for providing dental care to individuals with mental, physical, or behavioral challenges.
