Job Description

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill an open rank faculty position in biostatistics within the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Virginia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in collaborative research projects and develop independent high-impact statistical research
  • Contribute to the department's educational activities and participate in a multidisciplinary research program
  • Develop collaborations in support of the mission of the School of Medicine, with a focus on early phase clinical trials and applied translational statistics
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely related quantitative field
  • Experience collaborating on R01 or equivalent grant applications
  • Teaching experience at the graduate level
  • Preferred expertise in Bayesian methods for clinical trials, small sample predictive modeling, or sequential analysis
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the design and execution of adaptive clinical trials
  • Proven track record of extramural funding
