Job Summary

As a Staff Pharmacist at CVS Health, you will play a critical role in delivering our purpose of bringing heart to every moment of our patients' health. You will be responsible for supporting the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing your Pharmacy Technician Support Staff, and overseeing the operation of all aspects within your pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Safety: Ensure the safe handling and dispensing of medications, and maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
  • Pharmacy Professional Practice: Stay up-to-date with the latest pharmacy practices and regulations, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
  • Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to controlled substances and patient confidentiality.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and improve the quality of pharmacy services, including the accuracy and timeliness of medication dispensing.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients and customers, and respond to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Personnel Management: Supervise and develop your Pharmacy Technician Support Staff, and ensure they have the necessary training and resources to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of medications and supplies, and ensure that the pharmacy is well-stocked and able to meet patient needs.
  • Financial Profitability: Contribute to the financial success of the pharmacy by managing costs and improving efficiency.
  • Loss Prevention: Identify and mitigate potential losses, and take steps to prevent theft and other forms of loss.
  • Workflow Management: Streamline and improve the workflow of the pharmacy, and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Active Pharmacy License in the state in which you are employed.
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
  • Immunization Certification through an accredited organization (e.g., APhA).
  • No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree.
