Job Title: Production Supervisor

At The Judge Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our production team, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and safety are maintained, and driving efficiency and productivity in our facilities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily activities of the production team, ensuring tasks are completed to the highest standard and deadlines are met.
  • Implement and maintain effective safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
  • Supervise the environmental conditions of the facilities, identifying and implementing remedial actions to address any issues.
  • Inspect equipment to ensure it is operating correctly, performing necessary preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Guarantee the implementation of effective animal welfare practices and standards, supporting initiatives and documentation for auditing purposes.
  • Be available for 24-hour emergency calls and respond to any necessary remedial actions.
  • Provide comprehensive training to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Observe team activity during the workday, making adjustments to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Offer guidance and support to team members as required, implementing progressive discipline and corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist in conducting performance assessments, gathering weekly data, and compiling final reports.
  • Oversee bird relocation and perform other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in a related field (Agriculture, Business, etc.) or 5+ years of experience in the poultry sector.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a poultry production environment preferred, with 1-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Basic Preventive Maintenance experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English required.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead people and achieve results through others.
  • Ability to recruit, train, motivate, and retain a skilled workforce.
  • Ability to provide effective coaching, mentoring, and discipline.
  • Ability to plan, execute, and measure results and outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness and ability to learn various associated roles.
  • Knowledge of effective safety practices.
  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical devices with good troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with computers, including windows-based programs and systems.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from diverse ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds.
Physical Demands:
  • Constant standing and walking; frequent gripping, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.
  • Temperature fluctuations in relation to the outside temperature.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.
