Location: Clovis/Fresno (Hybrid Schedule)

Compensation: $21.00 (entry level) - $29.40/hour (TOP)

Reporting To: Housing Services Manager

Position Summary

The Residential Support Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering essential services to individuals and families impacted by trauma, particularly in cases of Domestic Violence. This position is responsible for overseeing shift-specific operations within the Emergency and Transitional living programs, as well as managing the intake and orientation of new clients entering the shelter.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and supporting residential client activities during assigned shifts.
  • Providing direct assistance and advocacy to clients, ensuring their immediate needs are met.
  • Facilitating workshops and group sessions aimed at promoting self-sufficiency and healthy living.
  • Maintaining client confidentiality in accordance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborating with Case Management and other internal departments to address client needs.
Key Responsibilities

Safe House Operations:

  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents.
  • Assist with daily shelter activities, including food service and room preparations.
  • Engage with clients to foster positive relationships and address any conflicts.
  • Conduct intake procedures and maintain accurate client records.
  • Participate in case staffing meetings and provide updates on client progress.

Community Engagement:

  • Organize and lead workshops that enhance independent living skills.
  • Transport clients to appointments and community activities as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and law enforcement.
Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in social work, human services, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in domestic violence support, social work, or mental health services is highly desirable.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Effective communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments and feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Commitment to working with diverse populations and sensitivity to domestic violence issues.

Certifications:

  • Valid California driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Must pass background checks and health screenings as required.
