Job Summary

WMCHealth Network seeks a seasoned Risk Management professional to provide strategic direction and leadership for all enterprise risk management and insurance functions. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing risk management services throughout the organization, while collaborating with senior leadership to develop new and expanding programs that support the risk management strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework to assess, evaluate, and measure organizational risks.
  • Lead projects related to risk assessment, design, implementation, and integration, and assume a leadership role in their implementation.
  • Set strategic and operational objectives, and develop a standardized framework to identify, quantify, measure, report, and mitigate risk across the organization.
  • Provide a clear vision of where enterprise risks lie, and facilitate the process of defining policies to distribute and offset those risks.
  • Develop the data strategy required to build an accurate picture of operational risk, and use models to describe and quantify risks.
  • Provide leadership for decision making and problem resolution within multidisciplinary groups to support risk management initiatives and goals.
  • Direct the development and implementation of staff education and training programs related to risk management processes and objectives.
  • Develop and lead processes to identify key strategic, financial, operational, and reputational risks, and develop risk mitigation plans for those risks.
  • Develop and implement benchmarking around key risks.
  • Direct the revision of risk profiles, and facilitate ongoing risk assessments.
  • Identify and prioritize emerging issues for further investigation, and evaluate risks associated with the organization's strategic planning initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership on the state of enterprise risk throughout the organization.
  • Develop a set of key risk indicators to provide an early warning system of the organization's top enterprise risks.
  • Lead the development of automated tools to standardize risk reporting across the organization.
  • Facilitate the activities of interdisciplinary risk management teams.
Qualifications and Requirements

Seven years of professional experience in the field of risk management, with three years of experience developing and implementing enterprise risk management services for a large, tertiary care medical center. A Bachelor's degree is required. Comprehensive knowledge of risk and insurance functions in a large, complex hospital setting, as well as thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of enterprise risk management, risk financing, and self-insurance.
