Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Histology Associate to join our team at 247Hire. As a Histology Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the functions of our histology laboratories, ensuring the highest quality of histotechniques and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the performance of routine histotechniques, following standard procedures and safety policies.
  • Operate laboratory or manufacturing equipment, utilizing good documentation practices for maintaining records.
  • Monitor and prepare bulk reagents, and assist in preparation work for moderately complex techniques under the direction of more senior histology technicians.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment, addressing and escalating any potentially unsafe hazards, and timely reporting of safety hazards, incidents, and near misses.
  • Navigate and understand the quality system, escalating issues as needed, and accurately perform tasks in a regulated environment (OSHA, NMPA, FDA, etc.).
  • Perform and document all transactions and production instructions with accuracy related to the proper receipt, quarantine, storage, and disbursement of materials, adhering to FDA, OSHA, QSR, ISO, Good Manufacturing Practices, and other Firm policies and procedures.
  • Recognize minor issues with raw materials, equipment, and lab safety, escalating as needed, and adhere to 95% or above internal training compliance.
  • Responsible for 6S activities, maintaining daily records, and assists in the implementation of process improvements.
  • Participate and contribute to team/tier meetings, and may participate in process improvement activities.
  • Proactively collaborate with peers and with other functions to ensure targets are achieved, and may provide suggestions to improve work processes and laboratory equipment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED + 1 year of directly related histology experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and follow Operating Procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing and laboratory techniques.
  • Skilled use of word processing and email.
  • Demonstrated experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement.
  • Experience with Google products (gMail, gSheets, gDoc, etc.), preferred.
  • Experience with SAP required.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to be agile and accurate in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, planning skills, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills - written, verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management skills to manage multiple tasks and competing timelines.
  • Ability to use the technology associated with the industry.
  • Ability to use precision tools.
  • Ability to have prompt, regular, and reliable worksite attendance.
  • Required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, bend, crouch for a combined 4 or more hours per day.
  • Required to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Repetitive, consistent movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Required to have good near visual acuity to perform activities throughout the processes in the assigned area.
  • This is an essential position supporting the organizational goals, requiring attendance on weekends, holidays, and during emergency or exceptional conditions.
