The Manufacturing Operations Director is tasked with managing the daily functions of production facilities and their workforce. Collaborating with Corporate Business Partners from Finance, Human Resources, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and other departments is essential to ensure compliance with established business practices. The Director will develop and execute strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency across all areas of the facility.
Daily Responsibilities- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment while acting as a responsible environmental steward.
- Oversee multiple operational sites within the same geographic region, including remote management of smaller facilities.
- Implement strategies to achieve or surpass corporate goals related to shipments, conversion costs, inventory management, and budgeting.
- Report directly to the Director of Operations while also receiving directives from other senior corporate leaders.
- Guarantee compliance with company policies, governmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Foster a collaborative working atmosphere that encourages effective communication among all facility members.
- Partner with various functional areas to manage the facility while meeting individual team objectives.
- Promote the adoption of Lean principles as a fundamental practice within the facility.
- Develop, implement, and monitor proactive plans for organizational improvement.
- Drive enhancements in operations to optimize resource utilization and maximize capital investment value.
- Assess staffing needs and recommend appropriate personnel to meet operational goals.
- Coordinate efforts across all functional areas to ensure alignment with facility objectives, including Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Inventory.
- Maintain flexibility to support operations across all shifts.
- Collaborate on budget formulation and develop metrics to track progress toward financial targets.
- Achieve favorable quality outcomes through effective management of the facility's quality assurance program.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration with Corporate Quality, Safety, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement teams.
- Monitor, report, and take corrective actions based on critical operational metrics.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing or operations setting. Alternatively, eight years of relevant experience may substitute for a four-year degree, provided core competencies have been acquired through college-level coursework.
Preferred Skills:
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications; familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
- Problem Solving: Capable of identifying and resolving issues promptly; skilled in gathering and analyzing information; adept at developing alternative solutions and collaborating in group problem-solving scenarios.
