We are seeking a Certified Surgical Technician to join our team at Intermountain Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care while demonstrating our values of Integrity, Trust, Excellence, Accountability, and Mutual Respect.
Responsibilities- Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients
- Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to doctor's preference lists
- Provide appropriate instrumentation, suture, and all supplies as requested and maintain a sterile environment
- May assist surgeons by passing instruments during cases
- Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy
- Assist in maintenance and care of specimens and prepare for laboratory analysis
- Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps in accordance with established policy and recommended standards of practice
- Assist with timely turnover of rooms, including clean up, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment
- Graduation from a formal, accredited surgical technologist program
- NCCT Surgical Technologist certification (TS-C) or NBSTSA certification
- Registered in state of practice as a Surgical Technologist
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification
- 1 year OR scrubbing experience preferred
- 1 year clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred
