Position: Medical Receptionist

Key Responsibilities:
- Exhibit professionalism and a positive demeanor towards patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in waiting and reception areas.
- Welcome visitors and vendors, directing them to the appropriate personnel.
- Accurately input patient information into the electronic systems during check-in.
- Confirm patient insurance details and demographic information.
- Collect and verify patient identification and insurance documentation.
- Identify the purpose of patient visits and distribute relevant information packets.
- Process patient payments and manage appointment scheduling.
- Coordinate referrals for diagnostic tests and specialty consultations.
- Follow up on referrals to ensure adherence to scheduled appointments.
- Handle incoming calls and manage appointment bookings.
- Remind patients of upcoming appointments through calls.
- Verify insurance eligibility for patients.
- Assist in managing provider schedules effectively.
- Address no-shows and reschedule appointments as necessary.
- Document patient interactions and updates in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in training and educational opportunities as needed.
- Conduct external screenings when required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Occasional travel between clinics may be necessary for coverage.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required; a college degree is preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records, scheduling software, and Microsoft Outlook is necessary.
Requirements:
- Level 2 background clearance is mandatory.
- Documentation of immunizations for Tdap, MMR, Hepatitis B, and either a history of chickenpox or varicella vaccination is required, along with a PPD test upon hire.
