About the Role:


This position is responsible for providing design services to support projects involving substation engineering and transmission engineering for high-voltage electric facilities.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Work with project teams to create or modify civil site development design documents.
  • Use project-specific standards to ensure efficient design progress.
  • Develop detailed site development drawings.
  • Apply engineering application software for site grading, drainage, and site surveys.
  • Perform engineering and design functions to meet project schedules.
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with customer representatives, project teams, and management.
  • Ensure correct application of engineering standards, including the NESC, IEEE, ANSI, AISC, and ACI.
  • Properly use the document management system.
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of work.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent degree with experience in the Civil Engineering field.
  • Candidates can be a licensed professional engineer or must be able to obtain licensure within two years of hire.
  • A minimum of three years of direct experience and proven knowledge in civil site development design is required.
  • Possess skills in site design, grading, drainage, stormwater, land easements, surveying, and earthwork.
  • Knowledge and understanding of soil erosion and sediment control, stormwater modeling, permitting, pavement design, and specifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical substation and transmission line components and their function.

Physical Requirements:



  • This position requires minimal physical effort.
  • Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to year-round weather conditions and noise.
  • Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%).
  • Working extended hours, including weekends, may be required periodically.
  • May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
