Job Title: Stationary Engineer/Electrician
Job Summary: We are seeking a Stationary Engineer/Electrician to support our client at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. The successful candidate will have experience with operating Energy Management Control Systems (EMCS) and Power Control Consoles (PCC), as well as strong HVAC and electrical knowledge.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot EMCS and PCC systems.
- Manage and coordinate operational support of the Space Flight Operations Facility's infrastructure, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Dispatch and record service orders, and issue CMMS work tickets as required.
- Identify and report deficiencies or anomalies in EMCS systems and PCC.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and HVAC controls from the console and in the field.
- Maintain effective communications with EMCOR teams and customers.
- Send Flash Reports for critical equipment breakdowns and Facility Infrastructure interruptions.
- Update EMCOR Management and JPL customers on critical repairs and Facility Infrastructure restoration.
- Analyze and act promptly in cases of electrical system disturbance.
- Log critical alarms and events during shifts.
- Coordinate additional staffing and resource requirements during non-core hours to handle emergencies.
- Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on assigned work orders.
- Work with the SFOF Manager to provide vendor quotes and information for ordering critical work order materials and supplies.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate from a formal CA apprentice program for Stationary Engineer or Electrical apprenticeship program.
- Must have experience with operating and monitoring Power Control Consoles, emergency power generation, PDUs, and UPS.
- Minimum of years equivalent working experience required, with knowledge of industrial electrical and HVAC mechanical systems.
- Related certification(s) from an accredited institution or technical trade school preferred.
- Must possess knowledge of maintenance practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment, and tools to operate and maintain systems.
- Must have prior Building Management System experience; Niagara N/AX is preferred.
- Must have knowledge of computer operations and application pertinent to their field (CMMS, Microsoft applications and email).
- Must be able to move and lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders, and work at various heights.
- Strong interpersonal skills and good customer service skills.
- Ability to read and write in the English Language.
- Valid CA driver's license.
- Must have the ability to multi-task, be organized, pay attention to detail, be dependable, and be a team player.
- Flexibility to work alternate schedules as necessary.
- Perform all other duties as assigned to meet customer critical missions.
