Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for operating a scanner to obtain high-quality images used to diagnose and treat various pathologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients accurately to produce high-quality images.
  • Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
  • Enter and monitor patient data and transfer images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
  • Completion of a radiology program.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent use of hearing to distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of vision to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Rare kneeling and sitting.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • ARRT-MR Magnetic Resonance Imaging - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
