Medical Assistant

WJM Professionals is seeking a skilled CMA/MA to provide high-quality medical services to Active-Duty beneficiaries. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' needs for CMA/MA care and develop effective treatment plans.
- Administer medications, oxygen, and other medical interventions as needed.
- Prepare patients for surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Operate and monitor specialized equipment, such as cardiac monitors and defibrillators.
- Inventory and manage medical supplies and equipment.
- Provide emergency care and respond to urgent situations.
- Greets and receives patients, directing them to appropriate care.
- Responds to non-medical inquiries and requests.
- Files and maintains accurate healthcare records.
- Inputs patient information into the Coast Guard Healthcare Information Systems.
- Utilizes Microsoft applications to track data, generate reports, and prepare presentations.
- Reviews and routes correspondence, schedules consultations, and maintains referral logs.
- Verifies patient eligibility for care and provides benefits counseling.
- Provides instruction and training to clinic staff as needed.
- A certificate or Associate degree as a CMA/MA from a state-accredited program and 12 months experience within the preceding 36 months, or
- Certification from a military medical assistant school and 12 months experience within the preceding 36 months, or
- 36 months experience within the preceding 60 months as a medical assistant in a private practice and completed the requirements for certification.
- Current resume including degrees earned, professional experience, social security number, and date of birth.
- Professional training and courses attended in the past two years.
- Professional organization affiliations and memberships.
- Previous work references, including organization, years of service, address, and point of contact with telephone number.
- Awards and certifications received.
- A certificate or associate degree from an accredited school of CMA/MA or certification from a military medical assistant school.
- A current unrestricted certification from an accredited certifying agency, if applicable.
- Evidence of immunity to Hepatitis A and B and evidence of freedom from chronic communicable disease(s).
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider.
- At least three (3) letters of recommendation from recent employers addressing CMA/MA services.
