The Perioperative Registered Nurse is a key member of the USPI team, providing high-quality patient care in the perioperative services. This role requires a strong nursing background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe and effective patient care in the perioperative services, including pre-operative and post-anesthesia care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to changes in their condition, taking prompt action as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring clear understanding of patient needs and plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
- Support the mission, vision, and values of USPI, upholding the organization's commitment to excellence and patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in the state of practice.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- At least 1-3 years of experience in perioperative nursing, preferably in an ambulatory surgical center.
- Current BLS, ALS, and PALS certifications.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and patient management.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating clearly and respectfully with colleagues and patients.
