Career Specialist Job Description

As a JAG Career Specialist, you will play a vital role in empowering high school age teenagers to achieve their career goals. You will be responsible for providing career readiness coaching, project-based learning, and goal achievement mentorship to students. You will also establish relationships with local businesses, organizations, and colleges to create career opportunities for students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide career readiness coaching to students, including resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace etiquette.
  • Implement project-based learning, creating hands-on activities that foster real-world problem-solving skills.
  • Mentor students as they set and achieve their personal, educational, and career goals.
  • Establish relationships with local businesses, organizations, and colleges to create career opportunities for students.
  • Act as a champion for students, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to navigate challenges.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree and experience working with high school age teenagers.
  • One plus years work-related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work 12 months per year.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
