Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers. As a PRN RN in our Denver Midtown clinic, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Administer chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Maintain knowledge of drug reimbursement procedures and complete all chemotherapy charge forms.
  • Assure pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines catheter devices.
  • Administer all medications using correct medication product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique.
  • Document nursing assessments, patient teaching, and fluid and medication administration in the patient chart.
  • Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements.
  • Minimum two years nursing experience required, oncology experience preferred.
