Job Summary

The Plant Manager is a key leadership role responsible for the overall management of the facility, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This position requires strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Lead facility operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and manage budgets, driving financial performance and profitability.
  • Implement process improvements, leveraging lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Conduct Gemba walks, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to drive waste reduction and efficiency gains.
  • Analyze data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement, and develop strategies to address these areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and maintain high-quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and track key performance metrics, driving business growth and operational excellence.
  • Serve as a facility spokesperson, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Participate in business development activities, fostering relationships with customers and partners to drive business growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Agriculture, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of plant leadership experience in food production, manufacturing, costing, and distribution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Financial management experience.
  • Increasing leadership history.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Lean Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Teams, Access, and Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP systems.

  • Deep experience with manufacturing or production processes, including continuous improvement tools.
  • Active listening, management of personnel resources, social perceptiveness, coordination, critical thinking, reading comprehension, oral comprehension, written comprehension, written expression, judgment and decision making, negotiation, complex problem solving, deductive reasoning, problem sensitivity, and fluency of ideas.
Physical Demands

  • The ability to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear.
  • The ability to frequently sit and reach with hands and arms.
