Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of social work programs and policies.
  • Conduct social work consultations and perform clinical diagnoses or psychotherapy.
  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups, utilizing evidence-based interventions and modalities.
  • Evaluate patients' psychological and mental status, utilizing the latest Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
  • Assess urgent or high-risk clinical situations and make appropriate interventions.
  • Coordinate referrals to psychiatrists or other clinicians and assist with admissions to hospitals or specialized facilities.
  • Assess patients in Emergency Departments on an as-needed basis.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Hawaii) or Mental Health Counselor License (Hawaii).
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • National Provider Identifier required at hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in providing behavioral health services in a primary care setting.
  • Knowledge of and experience in conducting assessments and diagnostic evaluations using the latest DSM.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in adaptability, change management, conflict resolution, decision making, group process facilitation, influence, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving, quality management, teamwork, and written communication.

Travel: Yes, 25% of the time.
