Job Summary

We are seeking a Part-Time bilingual (Spanish) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our School Based Health Centers (SBHC) program in providing quality care to students in the Port Chester Schools.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, directs, and evaluates nursing care for patients of all ages, gender, cultures, and backgrounds.
  • Performs and records screening tests, administers medications, vaccinations, treatments, and intravenous solutions.
  • Maintains up-to-date immunization records, follows current ACIP guidelines, and participates in the storage and maintenance of medications and immunizations.
  • Reviews patient medication lists, communicates patient status and needs to providers prior to patient visits.
  • Collects and performs CLIA laboratory procedures, records and reports results, and calibrates and maintains instruments.
  • Prepares and maintains documentation in compliance with JCAHO standards and applicable city, state, and federal laws.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives, training, and education of new employees.

Requirements

  • Licensed in New York State as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • English speaking, bilingual Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Ability to work with electronic health records and computers.

About the Role

This is a Part-Time position working standard SBHC hours of 8am to 4pm, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will be a team player, able to work collaboratively with our healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care.
