Job Description

We offer an exciting opportunity for an Accounting and Payroll Coordinator to join our team at the City of Cambridge. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our financial systems and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling bank statements, and preparing adjusting and closing journal entries.
  • Support the preparation of month-end and year-end financial statements, including allocation worksheets and schedules.
  • Process customer payments, prepare invoices for payment, and perform similar or related work as required.
  • Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of experience in payroll administration and/or accounting/finance role, with knowledge of payroll software and applicable Federal/State rules and regulations.
  • Associate degree in accounting or related field; two years of directly related work experience regarded as equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret and apply laws, codes, and regulations.
