Role Definition

This entry-level sales role is designed to support the DIY segment of our business while achieving sales and service targets. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of store systems, basic automotive knowledge, and familiarity with parts. The position requires the ability to source products from various suppliers and a comprehensive understanding of inventory management and maintenance processes. This role can be offered on a part-time or full-time basis, with a preference for candidates holding fleet safety certification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional customer service during DIY customer interactions, both in-person and via phone.
  • Meet personal sales objectives and contribute to the store's overall sales performance.
  • Provide DIY services such as battery installations, testing, and wiper blade replacements.
  • Ensure adherence to product and operational standards within the store.
  • Manage inventory tasks including truck unloading, cycle counts, and back stock management.

Additional Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, including restrooms and common areas.
  • Assist with stocking tasks, including truck deliveries and back stock organization.
  • Safely deliver parts to customers as required.

Success Factors

  • Basic driving and navigation skills.
  • Ability to utilize delivery tracking systems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in locating and stocking parts.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Experience with inventory systems and store equipment.
  • Understanding of automotive systems and parts.
  • Familiarity with POS and parts lookup systems.
  • Expertise in using diagnostic equipment for DIY services.

Essential Skills for Success

  • Proficient in English (Spanish is a plus); capable of effective communication and relationship building with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines, operational instructions, and parts catalogs.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Experience

  • 2-3 years of successful sales experience in a retail environment, focusing on delivering excellent customer service.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands and work environment outlined here represent what must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role, with or without reasonable accommodation. The employee will primarily be required to walk or stand. The role necessitates effective communication, manual dexterity, and the ability to reach, climb, and bend. Work Environment
