Job Summary

This recruitment is for SUBSTITUTE (hourly) custodians to address short and long-term absences. This posting aims to fill (2) vacancies at Marshall Fundamental School. Positions may be full-time at 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 9 months per year, or part-time hours per day.

Requirements / Qualifications

Experience:

A minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience in public or military law enforcement, facility security, etc., is essential. Experience working with adolescent groups concerning discipline, safety, and security is particularly preferred.



Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Coursework in police science through a Community College or a Military Technical School is advantageous.

SPECIAL LICENSE OR LANGUAGE SKILLS

A current license issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (Guard Card) and a valid First Aid/CPR card are required. A valid Class C California Driver's License is desirable. Proficiency in another language, such as Armenian or Spanish, is a plus.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees must be physically and mentally capable of performing the essential duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodation and without posing a hazard to themselves or others. They must possess the skills necessary to establish authority with students and be capable of: lifting up to seventy-five (75) pounds and holding the weight for 20 seconds, repeating this exercise 3 times within 2 minutes; standing unsupported for at least one (1) hour; walking 100 yards within 60 seconds and maintaining that pace for 5 minutes; running 100 yards in 40 seconds; bending down to touch the ground and rising again 10 consecutive times within 30 seconds; crawling for 10 yards within 20 seconds; stooping and remaining in a squatting position for 30 seconds; ascending and descending a flight of at least 15 stairs within 20 seconds and repeating this exercise 3 times within 75 seconds.

*DEGREE VERIFICATION: Transcripts and degrees obtained outside the United States must be supplemented by a complete evaluation report from a regionally accredited foreign degrees review agency.
