Job Summary

MAB Community Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapeutic Community Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our residential treatment team, you will play a vital role in providing supportive learning and leisure opportunities to our neurodiverse students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Student Development: Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to provide individualized supports to students based on their learning and treatment needs.
  • Implement Therapeutic Frameworks: Engage with students throughout daily activities and lessons, supporting them in accessing residential programming and making learning fun and joyful.
  • Build Relationships: Develop positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, communicating effectively and providing emotional support as needed.
  • Document Progress: Complete program communication and documentation requirements, including daily student progress summaries and incident reports.
  • Participate in Crisis Intervention: Assist in crisis intervention as needed, working collaboratively with the residential team to ensure student safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Social Work, Education, Psychology, or related field. Previous experience preferred, but not required.
  • Skills and Competencies: Demonstrates a foundational understanding of student-staff relationships and professional boundaries. Ability to work collaboratively on a team, excellent interpersonal skills, and a desire to learn and develop skills related to implementation of CPI, PBIS, and ARC model of treatment.
  • Licensure and Certification: Valid driver's license, CPR, and First Aid certification required. Background check and drug and alcohol test will be performed prior to start.
