The Role

We are hiring for a Technical Support Specialist II to work in our Technical Solutions Center team, supporting our customers with expert technical solutions for assay and instrument-related issues. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to lead troubleshooting management, and a sense of urgency to resolve customer issues.

As a Technical Support Specialist II, you will work Thursday to Sunday, with a schedule of 18:30 to 5 ET. You can be based in Rochester, NY, or work remotely in the US. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a global team and contribute to the success of QuidelOrtho.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical solutions for customers using telecommunication, chat, or other emerging technologies.
  • Lead troubleshooting management on laboratory instrumentation using defined methodologies.
  • Recognize the clinical significance of tests performed in the laboratory.
  • Communicate with empathy and respect to customers, peers, and business partners.
  • Identify root causes of issues and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Support Continuous Quality Improvement and customer satisfaction goals.
  • Present technical information within and outside the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with the Technical Solutions Centers team to achieve goals.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree or certification in Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, or other relevant degree.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in a healthcare setting.
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Team player with self-motivation and interaction skills.
  • Ability to organize and express ideas in individual or group situations.
  • Technical and professional knowledge of systems and solutions.
  • Ability to work a variable shift schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish.
  • 2 years in a healthcare setting with experience in Clinical Laboratory/Blood Bank.
Key Working Relationships

Internal Partners: Field Application Specialists, Global TSC team, Sales Representatives, and Product Specialists for critical cases related to technical services.

External Partners: Customers, Lab technicians, Lab managers, biologists, biomedical engineers, IT technicians, and service personnel.

Work Environment

The work environment is an office setting with occasional light lifting of files and related materials. Ability to travel up to 20% globally required.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position is $65,000 to $75,000 and is bonus eligible.
