JOB OVERVIEW
Insight Global is seeking a dedicated Pumped Storage Hydro Engineer to contribute to a client's Clean Fuels initiative. This role involves engineering responsibilities across a range of pumped storage and fossil fuel projects. You will oversee all engineering aspects from initial concept through to construction and final commissioning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage engineering activities for multiple projects.
- Conduct conceptual engineering and define project scope.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and implement safety criteria in specifications and designs.
- Verify that permits, codes, and standards are incorporated into specifications and designs.
- Draft and adapt specifications for Engineer of Record (EOR), Engineering Consultant, Early Stage Engineering, Construction, Engineer/Procure/Construct (EPC), and Owner furnished equipment as necessary.
- Review deliverables from EOR, Engineering Consultant, and contractors for compliance and completeness.
- Collaborate with the purchasing department to ensure purchase orders accurately reflect specified requirements.
- Conduct project evaluations and planning reviews.
- Perform engineering design and planning reviews.
- Analyze and optimize schedules and conduct cost/benefit analyses.
- Provide technical support and ensure quality control in line with project QA/QC procedures.
- Oversee EPC Contractor design and engineering.
- Monitor compliance of equipment and materials with specifications.
- Conduct site investigations and inspections to support bidding and contract compliance.
- Resolve technical issues with engineers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Ensure completion of technical reports and record drawings.
- Support project execution with technical expertise throughout engineering, construction, and startup phases.
- Mentor and train junior engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5-10 years of experience in Civil Engineering.
- Familiarity with pumped storage systems or hydro power systems.
- Understanding of conventional fuel plants including combined/simple cycle, co-generation, and waste-to-energy systems.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
