Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Hospitalist Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Grand River Health. As a key member of our medical team, you will work collaboratively with hospital physicians to provide exceptional patient care and management for patients with stable and chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities
  • Order, interpret, and record results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians.
  • Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment.
  • Make patient rounds and plan and coordinate rehabilitation, home health care, and follow-up services for patients with acute health issues.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Set up procedures, perform device interrogations, and manage complex arrhythmia and medication regimens.
  • Admit patients through the emergency room and cover ICU, Med Surg, cardiology, and step-down units.
  • Post-surgical ICU, which includes continual critical and non-critical care in the post-surgical ICU.
  • Read and interpret EKG, lab tests, and radiologic studies under supervision of attending physician.
  • Execute emergency department consultations, hospital discharges from medicine units, post-op management, and rehab facility rounds.
  • Look after stabilization of patients in need of advanced cardiovascular or trauma life support before redirecting them for specialized medical treatment.
  • Plan and execute medical programs to aid in the mental and physical growth and development of children and adolescents.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Active Colorado Physician Assistant licensure required.
  • National Physician Assistant certification through NCCPA preferred.
  • Master's Degree in area of specialty preferred.
  • Active ACLS certifications are required upon hire and must be maintained throughout GRHD employment.
  • ATLS certification is preferred but not required.
  • 3 to 5 years working experience as a Hospitalist and/or clinical setting in a similar role preferred.
  • Active Colorado licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner in area of specialty based on RN licensure and Colorado authority for advanced practice.
