Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial spirit combined with robust business development and technical capabilities to lead and expand our Salinas office. We seek an individual who is adept at working autonomously while also supervising and mentoring mid-to-entry level personnel. Administrative support, including but not limited to Accounting, Business Development & Marketing, Human Resources, and IT, will be provided by our team in San Luis Obispo. Occasional travel to San Luis Obispo for team coordination is expected.

The successful candidate will oversee the preparation of essential materials such as design concepts, reports, and construction plans, specifications, and estimate documents, with a focus on managing contracts and budgets while supervising and training design staff.

This role includes various interactive responsibilities, coordinating with team members, clients, agency personnel, and others in the production and delivery of our professional services.

The candidate should demonstrate effective project management skills, including scope, budget, and scheduling control, along with proven experience in project delivery, managing teams and consultants, meeting quality expectations, and preparing proposals in response to RFPs & SOQs.

Specific Experience:

Applicants must exhibit a history of progressively taking on greater responsibilities throughout their careers. Experience may vary based on the area of expertise, as Wallace Group Engineering encompasses various disciplines, including Civil & Transportation Engineering, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Public Works Administration and Permitting, Surveying & GIS, and Water Resources. A focus on public agency work from planning through construction is preferred, along with experience in managing clients and staff.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• California Professional Engineer registration
• Minimum of twelve years of relevant design and project management experience
• Proficiency in various software programs, including MS Office, CAD, and discipline-specific applications.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit at a desk and utilize a computer for an average 8-hour work shift.
• Vision to independently view computer screens or printed materials and graphics.
• Mobility to stand or walk on job sites as necessary.
• Capability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Hearing and speech skills to effectively communicate in English, both in person and over the telephone.
