Job Overview

Aretum is seeking a highly skilled Senior System Engineer to lead the design and implementation of complex systems that meet the operational needs of our government clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Design and Implementation: Design and implement complex systems architecture that meets client objectives and requirements.
  • System Analysis and Troubleshooting: Conduct system analysis, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for production systems.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and define system requirements and specifications.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Develop and maintain documentation related to system design, configurations, and updates, ensuring compliance with internal and external guidelines and standards.
  • System Integration and Oversight: Oversee system integration processes and ensure all systems operate cohesively.
  • Technology Evaluation and Recommendation: Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions to enhance system performance.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior engineers within the team.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Engage in risk assessments and initiate mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated with advancements in technology and industry best practices.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in system engineering, including system design and analysis.
  • Skills and Certifications: Proven experience with systems integration and project management, strong understanding of network architecture, security protocols, and cloud services, experience with scripting and automation tools, familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO) and cybersecurity frameworks, excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, both verbal and written, ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and relevant certifications (e.g., Systems Engineering Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
