Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at G Cubed Inc. in Fort Belvoir, VA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, with experience in designing, developing, and implementing software development tools. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining code and associated test scripts to meet defined requirements, supporting the planning of systems and development deployments, and evaluating the interface between hardware and software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains code and associated test scripts to meet defined requirements.
  • Supports the planning of systems and development deployments.
  • Evaluates the interface between hardware and software, operational requirements, and the characteristics of an overall system.
  • Establishes and documents system parameters and formats, ensuring hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinating and/or modifying systems parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.
  • Revises existing systems, testing functionality of the system to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, data integrity, conversion, input requirements, and storage.
  • Provides documentation, testing, and maintenance of system updates, modifications, and configurations.
  • Practical application and troubleshooting experience with systems that interface with Active Directory, in an enterprise level, globally distributed environment.
  • Experience running scripts to manage/automate tasks related to Windows platforms.
  • Customer support experience to include phone, email, and in-person contact, as well as experience assisting end users with new desktop capabilities and/or software.
  • Collaborates with other members of the Solution Architecture team to complete integration with required core services, system security plan, and existing infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT-related field and/or combination of experience and education.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II certification, Security+.
  • One of the following DoD-approved certifications: GSEC, SSCP, CCNA-Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), CASP, GCIH, GCED.
  • MCSE, VMware Certified Professional or Advanced Professional certification, Windows 2019, Active Directory.
  • 10+ years focused on architecting, designing, engineering, integrating, deploying, and maintaining data center infrastructure, preferably within the DOD.
  • Experience with hardware, including compute, network, and storage, implementing DOD Security Controls, VMware System Administration, and developing documentation for architectures, designs, engineering, and operational support.
  • 15+ years engineering experience in the design, development, and implementation of software development tools, including developing and testing software solutions, analyzing system performance standards, analyzing systems flow, data usage, and work processes, conferring with users and management to derive system requirements, problem investigation and resolution.
  • Engineering experience with Microsoft Active Directory, including granting privileged access, configuring Active Directory Services (ADDS), Group Policy, Objects, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), File Sharing services, Active Roles Server (ARS).
  • Experience providing Tier 3 support in an enterprise level, globally distributed environment, creating quality Detailed Design documents, Test Plans, Implementation Plans, and Standard Operating Procedures, demonstrated aptitude for learning and rapidly mastering new applications and technology.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to harden VMware environments according to DISA STIG.
  • Ability to mentor junior and mid-level team members to be more proficient in the tasks and activities associated with the management of a cloud environment.
  • Experience with cloud/server/network implementation and with Cloud Infrastructure Services or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) support.
Security Clearance:

Must possess at minimum a TS/SCI Clearance. It is preferred that the candidate possess a TS/SCI with a CI Poly security clearance. Personnel must be U.S. citizens and capable of obtaining and maintaining a final TS/SCI security clearance. Additionally, all personnel will require access to NATO classified material and will require read-on to NATO.
