Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician for Cottonseed
Type: Contract (40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $15 - $16 per hour
Role Responsibilities:
This role involves supporting the Quality Assurance Lab Manager and Lab Supervisor in executing essential tasks to evaluate fuzzy, processed, and carryover cottonseed against quality benchmarks.
The technician will be engaged in sampling and testing cottonseed during two distinct seasons of the agricultural year:
- Summer Season: Sampling all returned processed seed at the distribution center. The focus will be on accurately sampling bulk boxes and bags of cottonseed, primarily conducted at the distribution center.
- Winter Season: Sampling and testing truckloads of fuzzy cottonseed in a laboratory environment. This includes performing various tests such as Moisture, Temperature, Free Fatty Acid, Genetic Purity, Visual Mechanical Damage, Adventitious Presence, Seed Count, pH, Seed Appearance, and Warm and Cool Germinations.
Applicants with a background in biology, laboratory work, or agriculture are preferred.
