Job Summary

EDF Renewables North America is seeking an experienced Wind Technician to join our team. As an On-Site Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing wind turbines in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wind turbines, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Operate and care for company property and equipment in an efficient and safe manner
  • Change gearbox oil and grease/torque wind turbines
  • Service turbines based on the type of turbine (manufacturer) in multiple wind fields
  • Perform status checks, including clearing error codes on turbines and repairing problems
  • Replace mechanical components and service blade and hub components as required by turbine type
  • Complete daily work orders, time cards, and other required paperwork for the specific project/assignment
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent
  • Experience and/or training on Vestas Turbines is preferred
  • Preferred knowledge of basic circuits and electrical fundamentals
  • Experience in working with high voltage
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret schematics
  • Able to demonstrate some basic computer knowledge
  • Will follow both verbal and written instructions
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a flexible schedule, able to be on call and work some weekends
Working Conditions

Wind Technicians spend 100% of their time in the field, excluding safety, supervisor, and scheduled training exercises. They work in teams and are provided a company vehicle (service truck) in which they carry the required tools and parts necessary to perform repairs and/or maintenance on turbines in multiple wind fields on any given day. Generally, Service Technicians work in extreme and adverse weather conditions.
