The Center for Family Representation Inc. (CFR) is a leading organization in the field of family defense, dedicated to promoting justice and protecting the rights of families and youth. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Fair Hearing Representative to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advocacy and a deep understanding of the SCR record challenge process. They will be responsible for providing high-quality advocacy to clients, working closely with our interdisciplinary teams to identify clients who may benefit from challenging their SCR record, and preparing for and conducting SCR hearings.

The Fair Hearing Representative will also be responsible for tracking and recording activities, outcomes, and deliverables for the project, as well as participating in community outreach presentations and developing training materials for parents, mandated reporters, and external stakeholders.

We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about family defense and has a strong commitment to social justice. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing SCR-related information and education to clients
  • Drafting letters to the SCR on behalf of clients to request records or initiate a challenge to their indicated reports
  • Preparing for and conducting SCR hearings, including communicating with the hearing officer, opposing counsel, clients, and other related parties
  • Obtaining documentary evidence in support of our clients
  • Interviewing clients and possible witnesses
  • Preparing clients to testify
  • Conducting hearings

The Fair Hearing Representative will work closely with our interdisciplinary teams to identify clients who may benefit from challenging their SCR record, obtain relevant information about their family court case and services, and provide information about the impact of family court outcomes on their SCR record.
