Security Officer Job Description

**Overview**

This is a PRN position with variable hours, ranging from 0 to 40 hours per week. Limited benefits are provided. The expected hourly pay is $23.31, with actual pay determined by experience, skills, and internal equity.

**Job Summary**

As a Security Officer with OSF HealthCare, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campuses. Your duties will include conducting unarmed patrols, monitoring alarm systems, assisting in investigations, and deterring criminal activity and misconduct.

**Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

* Current State Driver's License
* BLS (American Heart Association) certification within 90 days of hire
* International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) within 1 year of hire
* National Incident Management System (NIMS) within 1 year of hire
* LCMMC: Active FOID Card
* Service with a police department or active military, military reserves, or National Guard, and/or 1 year of security experience or customer service
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Associate's Degree
* Service with a police department or active military, military reserves, or National Guard, and/or 3 years of security experience
* International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security Certified Healthcare Security Officer (CHSO) Advanced Certification
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail-oriented
