Flood Control District Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Flood Control District Laborer. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and operation of the Levee System.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance of the Levee System, including mowing grass/landscaping, removal of unwanted vegetation, and trial operations of sluice gates.
- Inspections of closure structures, pumping plants, and water systems adjacent to the Levee System.
- Light maintenance of equipment necessary to perform daily tasks.
- Operations of the Levee System during flood events, including being available for work, operating sluice gates, and manning pumping plants.
- Installation of closure structures, sand bagging, and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Ability to complete minor repairs on lawn mowers and weed eaters, and operate lawn mowers, tractors, and weed eaters.
- Available for required work in emergencies (any days, any hours).
- Ability to climb high heights.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Willingness to learn and/or train for special tasks to perform job duties.
Working hours are from 7:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. This is a full-time position.
