Instrumentation and Electrical Technician

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Technician to join our team. As an I/E Technician, you will be responsible for performing daily assignments of an electrical and instrumentation nature, including troubleshooting and repairing equipment, performing calibrations, and maintaining good housekeeping practices.

- Train in the Instrument, Mechanical, and Electrical area to become fully proficient in troubleshooting problems and performing repair work.
- Be proficient in the use of the SAP maintenance management program to write notifications and create orders, locate stock materials, and review equipment history.
- Perform necessary welding and fabrication functions, lathe and milling functions, and proper assembly and rigging functions necessary to complete equipment repairs.
- Use specialty hand and shop tools, such as volt and amp meters, meggers, D.C. voltage equipment, hot sticks, static trip test sets, ground fault-testers, drills, grinders, cut-off saws, and wrenches.
- Understand and comply with all Plant rules and Safety requirements, as well as ISO and FSSC requirements.
- Determine appropriate parts, tools, equipment, and manpower for all assignments, and perform Preventive Maintenance inspections, safety inspections, and audits as assigned.
- Troubleshoot the Foxboro I/A and Allen Bradley PLC systems, as well as low, medium, and high voltage electrical problems and identify proper repairs.
- Review and check maintenance documentation for accuracy as required, and communicate the status of daily assignments to maintenance supervisors, maintenance planners, and operations coordinators.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
- Instrument Electrical Certification a plus.
- Prior instrument mechanical and electrical maintenance experience.
- Knowledge level in the use of hand and shop tools.
- Demonstrated effective troubleshooting methods and successes.
- Able to lift and carry 55 lbs., climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Able to learn new tasks and assignments and demonstrated willingness to maintain flexibility and support change.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Prior experience maintaining low, medium, and high voltage equipment.
- Prior experience of maintaining analog and digital control systems.
