Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years in a medical office environment is essential. Related experience may be considered in lieu of direct medical office experience.
  • Required Skills: Proficiency in medical office software for updating patient information, processing charges, collecting copays, and scheduling appointments. Familiarity with CPT and ICD9-CM coding is necessary. Strong verbal communication skills, adaptability to changing priorities, and excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities are required. The ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively within a team is essential. Basic medical terminology knowledge is necessary, which can be acquired through formal education or work experience. A high level of proficiency with EPIC systems and a detailed understanding of various payor billing requirements are also required.
  • Preferred Skills: Competence in utilizing all relevant computer software used within the practice.
