Job Summary

The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Medical City Denton provides a comprehensive learning experience for new graduate nurses. This paid program is designed to support the transition from student nurse to registered nurse, with a focus on clinical and critical thinking skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, and document the administration of care in the patient medical record.
  • Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient response, and notify providers as needed.
  • Provide exceptional patient care by responding promptly to patient requests and anticipating patient needs.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of employment
  • Other certifications may be required during employment
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
  • No previous experience is required
