About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Field Technician to join our team at Jacobs. As a Field Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the Dugway Proving Ground (DPG) contract, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of test site operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Blocking off areas to a test site (road guard) to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Escorting visitors to and from test sites, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their safety.
  • Relocating vehicles to and from test sites, utilizing your knowledge of the test site layout to optimize operations.
  • Setting up and tearing down test sites, including equipment reclamation, to maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity.
  • Moving office furniture and equipment, demonstrating your ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Obtaining supplies from local vendors, showcasing your resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.
  • Performing general cleaning and ensuring that work sites are safe and free from harm, upholding our commitment to a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Trained to operate vehicles and operate necessary equipment, such as aerosol sampling devices, test instrumentation, and fueling of generators and vehicles.
  • May be required to lift and handle heavy items (50 lbs.), stand/walk for extended periods of time.

Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Physical Requirements: Medium-exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Work Environment: Generally an outdoor environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Outside work may include various environmental conditions, including hot and cold climates.

Equipment and Machines: Ability to operate office equipment, such as a personal computer, printer, copy machine, telephone, fax machine, and other equipment, including desk supplies and other work-related tools as required.

Attendance: Regular hours will be between Monday-Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

Other Essential Functions: Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management, and co-workers. Must have clear, concise, and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to the office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear a seatbelt and refrain from using cellular devices while the vehicle is in motion. This position will require a valid driver's license to operate a variety of vehicles.
