This role is a project-based opportunity that can accommodate full-time, part-time, or contract employment. The successful candidate will work primarily in a collaborative environment, contributing to the development of advanced software solutions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected individual will take on the following responsibilities:
- Expertise in RPG-IV ILE and free/CLLE/SQL/DDM programming.
- Proficient use of IBM Rational Developer for IBM I.
- Experience working with XML and HTML in local IFS stream files.
- Comprehensive understanding of i5/OS DB2/STMF/DTAQ data flows and command APIs, focusing on security and encryption.
- Lead the design and implementation of significant new software functionalities.
- Engage in the Peer Review process to enhance product quality.
- Maintain and support existing software functionalities throughout their lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong background in designing and developing complex software applications.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 10 years of direct experience in software development for IBM i series (also known as i5/OS or OS/400) on HMC managed IBM Power Systems.
- Preferred experience in developing security software systems.
- Ability to quickly learn new applications and technologies.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with IBM Mainframe (z/OS, z/VM) is a plus.
