Job Summary

The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia is seeking a highly qualified candidate for an Open Rank, Open Track faculty position in classical or non-malignant hematology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide multi-site outpatient clinical care to patients with various non-malignant hematologic diseases
  • Attend on the inpatient hematology consult service on an intermittent basis
  • Contribute to the education and evaluation of medical students, medicine residents, hematology/oncology fellows, and advanced practitioners
Requirements
  • MD or equivalent degree
  • Board certification/eligibility in Hematology
  • Strong interest in an academic medicine career, with experience in research and/or medical education
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong clinical skills in classical (non-malignant) hematology
  • Interest in clinical investigation and/or translational collaborations

The successful candidate will be a clinically active member of our team, providing care to adult patients at multi-sites, including the outpatient setting at the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center at UVA, UVA Pantops Oncology, and attending on the inpatient hematology consult service. The position offers opportunities for clinical and/or translational research, as well as participation in student, resident, and fellow teaching.
