About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Client Service Manager to join our ESOP Administration team at Principal Financial Group, Inc. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and the ability to provide exceptional service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain effective relationships with ESOP clients to ensure growth, profitability, and retention in retirement services.
  • Service Delivery: Provide high-quality, efficient, and prompt service to meet customer expectations, including recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance testing.
  • Problem-Solving: Recognize and research unusual or complex situations independently, using creative problem-solving skills and in-depth product knowledge to arrive at solutions for retaining clients at-risk and resolving complex client issues.
  • Communication: Communicate with clients proactively to assist with questions, plan complexity discussions, education, participant data, plan administration procedures, etc.
  • Team Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with internal business partners, clients, and outside advisors, and participate in client visits to handle administrative issues and proposals.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Accounting or Finance preferred).
  • Experience: 7+ years related business experience, with previous ESOP experience required.
  • Skills: Strong accounting, numerical critical thinking, analytical, and technical skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills, including problem-solving and persuasion/negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and understanding of plan and contract documents, accounting and record-keeping systems, manuals, procedures, and company products and services, and PC applications including Excel.
