About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Labor Industrial Engineer Intern to join our team at Meijer. As a Labor Industrial Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with our Store Labor team to drive operational productivity, capacity, and efficiency through the development of engineered labor standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain engineered labor standards, including time and motions studies, process optimization, and process documentation
  • Work with store operations and scheduling teams to create Standard Operating Procedures based on engineered standards
  • Provide labor-based estimates and comparisons using anticipated business ventures/processes
  • Assess and discuss the human and organizational impacts of major change on an existing operation
Requirements
  • Progress toward a bachelor's or advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
  • 3.0+ GPA preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and other office products
  • Detail-Oriented – Carefully reviews work to ensure accuracy in assumptions and calculations
  • Prior experience working with engineered standards and labor budgeting is a plus
  • Problem Solving - Probes all fruitful sources for answers, and looks beyond the obvious to assemble and interpret data
  • Drive for Results - Has focus on the bottom line
  • Customer Focus - Dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers
  • Relationship Skills - Can create positive working relationships with customers, team members, leadership, and other internal and external constituencies
  • Communication Skills - Conveys the right information in writing and verbally
