About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Service Engineer to join our Azure Silver and Sovereign Team as part of the Cloud Transfer Service (CTS) team. The Azure Cloud Transfer Service enables secure access and transfer between enclaves and supports other transfer and access types enabling a wide set of capabilities within highly regulated industries.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fast-paced team and solve complex problems in the domain of mission-critical distributed systems spanning data transmission across clouds. Our team works across all facets of isolated system engineering but is deeply involved in the following areas:

Key Responsibilities
  • Service Automation and Reliability Improvements: Design, develop, and deploy automated solutions to improve the reliability and efficiency of our cloud-based services.
  • Systemic Latency Reduction: Identify and address performance bottlenecks in our distributed systems to ensure optimal latency and throughput.
  • Data Validation and Transformation: Develop and implement data validation and transformation processes to ensure data integrity and consistency across our systems.
  • Throughput Optimization: Optimize our systems for maximum throughput and scalability to meet the demands of our customers.

As a Principal Service Engineer, you will have the opportunity to build, deploy, and support systems that enable a broad set of Azure services to be consumed by customers in highly secured and regulated industries. The systems you support will be required to meet the security policy and assurance requirements of both public and private sector customers.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: 4+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering.
  • Security Clearance: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including an active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 12+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering.
  • Cloud Experience: 5+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems.
  • Industry Certifications: Management Information Systems (MIS), or other industry or product-specific engineering certifications.

  • Competitive Compensation: The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year.
