This role will provide support to the instructional program, with a focus on vocational, social, leisure, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) experience opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers and related staff in supporting lesson plans and developing students' skills in areas such as vocation, social, leisure, and ADL.
  • Support employer and school partners to meet work education objectives.
  • Assist students in job search skills, informing them of employment and career options.
  • Maintain confidential and non-confidential manual and electronic lists and records to document activities and provide reliable information.
  • Monitor and document student performance in various tasks, including work sites, according to program guidelines.
  • Ensure student safety at job locations.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and committees to convey and gather information required to perform functions and remain knowledgeable of program guidelines.
  • Prepare documents, reports, and written materials to communicate information to parents and staff, provide written support, and develop recommendations.
  • Respond to inquiries from internal and external sources to provide information and direction as required.
  • Support students in transportation issues, preparing them for testing, interviews, and obtaining proper documentation to meet transition goals.
  • Tutor students in all skills areas to enhance their readiness for independence.
  • Perform other related duties to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or 48 college credits or passing score of 461 on the ParaPro Test.
  • Teacher Assistant Training Program Certificate.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to participate in training and become certified as a job coach.
  • Willingness to participate in de-escalation training.
  • Attendance at program-specific professional development sessions.
