Certified Nursing Assistant

This position is located in the Ambulatory Care Department under the Division of Nursing Services at the Crownpoint Healthcare Facility in Crownpoint, NM.
This position serves as support staff, responsible for the prioritizing of tasks as assigned under the supervision of a licensed professional nursing staff utilizing universal precautions and insuring a safe, clean and orderly environment conducive to the delivery of quality nursing care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provides basic nursing care to patients with a variety of conditions, illnesses, and/or injuries, under the direction of a registered nurse
- Responsible for obtaining and recording patient information as assigned per unit policy
- Responsible for accurate input into unit computer system
- Assists in the arrangement of clinic appointments and discharge/transfer transportation
- Assist patient in Activities of Daily Living (ADL) in accordance to the units' checklist
- Assists with collection and proper care of specimens
- Qualifying specialized experience includes nonprofessional nursing care work in a hospital, outpatient clinic, nursing home, or other medical, nursing, or patient care facility, or in such work as that of a home health aid performing duties such as:
- Providing personal nursing care such as providing pre- and post-operative care
- Support duties for diagnostic and technical treatment procedures, such as setting up and operating special medical equipment and apparatus
- Assisting surgeons and registered nurses in operating room activities, including passing instruments, maintaining sterile conditions, and draping and positioning patients
Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957 and seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities.
COVID-19 vaccination is required for all selectees prior to entrance on duty.
May be assigned rotating shifts or on call back basis to provide continuity of nursing care.
You will need to set up direct deposit so we can pay you.
This position is covered by a Bargaining Unit.
Government housing is not available.
Eligibility for benefits depends on the type of position you hold and whether your position is full-time, part-time or intermittent.
