Job Description

We are seeking an ESG Reporting and Sustainability Leader to join our Finance team. This role will focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting, ensuring Chemours' transparency and compliance with emerging regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will lead the design and implementation of internal controls to ensure the completeness and accuracy of non-financial data collected for ESG reporting purposes.

This includes coordinating with SMEs responsible for providing data from existing software systems, ensuring continuous improvement of enhanced, streamlined tools for data collection.

The ESG Reporting and Sustainability Leader will work closely with the Head of External Reporting, Sustainability Reporting team, and other controller functions to carry out the role's responsibilities around ESG.

Responsibilities

  • ESG Reporting
    • Lead the design and implementation of internal controls to ensure the completeness and accuracy of non-financial data collected for ESG reporting purposes.
    • Coordinate with SMEs responsible for providing data from existing software systems, ensuring continuous improvement of enhanced, streamlined tools for data collection.
  • IT Systems Implementation
    • Lead the finance role on the implementation of IT systems used for collecting non-financial data.
  • ESG Data Monitoring
    • Monitor ESG data sources, processes, and changes and communicate issues, status, and solutions to finance leadership and the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO).
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Collaborate with the CSO's team to ensure the continuous development of the company's ESG reporting in accordance with relevant standards.
  • Project Management
    • Develop and implement plans to ensure timely compliance with emerging regulatory requirements.
  • Controllership Oversight
    • Provide controllership oversight of accounting for environmental remediation activities performed by our Central Remediation Group and Plant Sites.
  • Employee Engagement
    • Serv e as a liaison between Finance, Global Sustainability, Legal, Manufacturing, Human Resources, and other functions to establish proper processes and controls around climate and other ESG-related disclosures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA required.
  • A thorough understanding of US GAAP and SEC Reporting Standards.
  • A minimum of 6+ years of experience with Big 4 and/or industry financial reporting roles.
  • An ability to analyze ESG issues and effectively communicate them to others in the organization.
  • Knowledgeable in ESG related disclosures and industry trends, and willing to develop expertise.
  • Experience with leading planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing out projects.
  • Understanding of key sustainability frameworks and disclosures, including CSRD, TCFD, SASB, CDP, GRI, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Salary Range

The estimated salary for this position is $120,064.00 - $187,600.00 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
