As a vital member of the critical care team, the Registered Nurse collaborates with nursing personnel to devise, implement, and assess nursing care tailored to the unique needs of patients and healthcare administration.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are essential for this position:
- Examine patient records for any missing laboratory results, reports, or outstanding orders.
- Triage urgent same-day appointment requests or double bookings.
- Engage in daily team meetings to ensure effective communication.
- Assist in managing inventory supplies.
- Prepare medical equipment and support physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Confirming patient complaints and recording vital signs as necessary.
- Reviewing active medication lists with patients in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Conducting and documenting point-of-care tests according to established protocols.
- Administering injections as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care, which includes:
- Administering medications and treatments as per nursing standards.
- Coordinating and articulating care plans and interventions.
Furthermore, the Registered Nurse will:
- Consider age-specific characteristics and needs related to physical development, communication, and safety, collaborating with the care team.
- Support COVID-19 testing and vaccination initiatives.
- Facilitate clinical communications and educate patients on chronic condition management.
- Inform patients of abnormal test results and provide recommendations as determined by their primary care provider.
- Incorporate recommendations into individualized care plans and review the After Visit Summary with patients.
- Document progress notes in the electronic health record within a 24-hour timeframe.
- Manage patient flow within the primary care clinic.
- Perform CLIA waived tests as required.
- Maintain quality logs for the environment of care.
- Participate in scheduled clinic rounds to uphold care standards.
- Conduct medication management, including reconciliation and patient education on medication regimens, referring to pharmacists as necessary.
- Adhere to Infection Control standards under the guidance of the Medical Director.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A valid Registered Nurse license issued by the State of New York.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an Associate Degree in Nursing with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
